SUMMARY:35th Annual Legislative Reception
DESCRIPTION:The Metro South Chamber of Commerce cordially invites members of the business community\, candidates for public office\, and state\, federal and local elected officials to gather on Thursday\, October 9th for the 35th Annual Legislative and Candidates Reception. The reception will be held at Donahue Hall\, on the campus of Stonehill College in Easton from 5:00-7:30 p.m. \nThe reception is a casual event at which business leaders\, elected officials\, and candidates for public office can renew contacts and discuss issues of importance to them and the business community while enjoying complimentary refreshments and hors d’oeuvres. Legislative actions at municipal offices\, on Beacon Hill and in Washington are having far greater impact on Metro South area businesses than ever before. As a result\, there is a greater need for our business community to speak out and be heard on regulations affecting commerce and industry. \nAs a member of the Metro South Chamber\, your organization has a vested interest in helping foster stronger relationships with local officials. The Legislative Reception is an excellent and cost-effective way for you\, your key staff\, and colleagues to initiate or renew contacts at the state\, federal and local level. We encourage your firm to participate and support the unified voice of the Metro South Chamber of Commerce. Together\, we can ensure that government understands and supports the needs and concerns of the business community in our region. \nFor more information\, contact Hannah McGuire or call (508) 586-0500 ext. 231. \nThis is a complimentary event\, but pre-registration is required – RSVP now. \n

SUMMARY:Excel Charts - A Picture Is Worth 1000 Numbers
DESCRIPTION:They say a picture is worth a thousand words. That’s especially true today as our ability to gather information far outpaces our ability to absorb it. Excel charts provide a powerful and easy to use tool for visualizing complex data. \nThis live program will explain and demonstrate how to: \n\nChoose the type of chart best suited to your data and analysis;\nOrganize your data to facilitate charting;\nBuild a simple chart in one click;\nPreview different chart types to see which works best for you;\nMove and size a chart;\nDesignate which data to plot on horizontal and vertical axes;\nAdd\, remove\, and format chart elements\, such as titles\, axis and data labels\, tick marks and grid lines;\nChoose custom fonts and colors for chart elements\, customize axis scale and intervals\, and reposition and resize chart elements;\nUse graphics to build various chart elements\, for example stacked oil drums in a column chart to represent quantities of production or consumption;\nConnect multiple charts to the same data so they update together; and\nCombine several chart types\, for example column and line charts\, in the same plot area (sometimes called an overlay chart).
