Good Day Metro South: Easton Edition

 

The Chamber will hold a luncheon at the Martin Institute on the beautiful historic campus of Stonehill College on Thursday, January 30th, 2025 from 11:45am-1:30pm. The luncheon will include guest speaker, Massachusetts State Auditor Diana DiZoglio; a New Faces Panel featuring an interview with Stonehill’s new dean of the Meehan School of Business, John Duggan, JD, new Brockton Rox general manager, Shawn Reilly, and President & CEO at House of Possibilities, Katie Terino; and finally, an Easton economic development panel in recognition of Easton’s 300th anniversary featuring Easton Select Board Chair Dottie Fulginiti, Easton Town Administrator Connor Read, and new Massachusetts Office of Business Development (MOBD) Southeast Regional Director Jennifer Menard! About the Keynote Speaker

 

Auditor Diana DiZoglio is the 26th Auditor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  She was sworn into her first term on January 18, 2023. She is committed to help move Massachusetts forward by working to increase transparency and accountability in state government. Auditor DiZoglio is a former State Senator (1st Essex District), State Representative (14th Essex District), and chief of staff to the president of the Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts. Her decade-long service on Beacon Hill has provided her with the insight and fortitude to work alongside elected officials, labor, community advocates, stakeholders and everyday working people throughout the Commonwealth’s cities and towns. Her humble beginnings, non-profit work and labor experience helped her nurture, cultivate, and develop relationships with a diverse expanse of people. Auditor DiZoglio began her public service in state government in 2013, serving as a state representative for the 14th Essex district, which includes portions of North Andover, Methuen, Lawrence and Haverhill. She is a graduate of Wellesley College and Middlesex Community College. She is a resident of Methuen, where she grew up. New Faces Panel

 

John B. Duggan, J.D., was appointed as Dean of the Leo J. Meehan School of Business in April 2024. John came to Stonehill in 2014 and has served the institution in various roles, including teaching fellow of business, assistant professor and associate professor of business law, chair of the Department of Business Administration, vice president of the Faculty Senate, and interim dean of the Leo J. Meehan School of Business.

He worked collaboratively on the College’s path to reaccreditation with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International in 2017 and 2022. This distinction ranks the College among an elite crop of institutions making up less than six percent of the world’s business schools. He holds a B.A. in political science and philosophy from Assumption College and a J.D. from Suffolk University School of Law.

Duggan’s background in the legal field includes advising clients on business formation and estate planning as well as pro-bono legal services for non-profit organizations. He currently holds memberships with the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Real Estate Bar Association for Massachusetts, the North Atlantic Regional Business Law Association and the Academy of Legal Studies in Business. Shawn Reilly was recently announced as the new general manager of the Brockton Rox! A native of Niagara Falls, NY, Shawn serves as the President of the New York Boulders in the Frontier League. A co-founder of the team in 2011, Reilly played an instrumental role in designing Clover Stadium, the Boulders’ home ballpark, which is widely regarded as one of the finest in independent professional baseball. Under his leadership, the team was recognized as the CanAm League’s Organization of the Year in both 2013 and 2014, and they went on to win the CanAm League Championship in 2014.

Before his work with the Boulders, Reilly was Executive Vice President at Core Communities in Port St. Lucie, Florida, where he helped develop the master-planned communities of St. Lucie West and Tradition. These developments, which became two of the fastest-growing communities in America during his tenure, played a pivotal role in Port St. Lucie’s rapid growth. In fact, in 2024, the city was ranked the 5th fastest-growing in the U.S. by the U.S. Census Bureau.

Reilly’s career in professional sports began as the General Manager of the Niagara Falls Rapids and then the Jamestown Jammers (Detroit Tigers Class A affiliates) of the New York-Penn League. He later moved to Port St. Lucie to oversee the Thomas J. White Stadium Sports Complex, the spring training home of the New York Mets before joining Core Communities. He is an avid Buffalo Bills fan and a member of USA Hockey. Learn more here.

President & CEO Katie Terino is an innovator, a doer, and a proactive communicator with a problem-solving mindset and a deep dedication to building an inclusive, supportive community for individuals with disabilities and their families. Her depth and breadth of experience infuses every aspect of her work at HOPe: She previously spent a decade in school administration, at organizations ranging from a small start-up elementary school to major universities, spanning areas from program development to marketing and fundraising to technology. Katie has also served on five nonprofit boards, including HOPe’s. She loves working with others who strive to understand the pain points for individuals and families who use disability services and identify unique and inspiring ways to solve them. Easton Economic Development Panel

 

Dottie Fulginiti, Chair of the Easton Select Board, has dedicated over twelve years to serving the community. She plays a key role in strategically planning for economic growth in Easton’s targeted areas. Dottie’s leadership extends to numerous other initiatives, including her involvement with the Bristol County Advisory Board, Brockton Area Transit (BAT) Advisory Committee, Massachusetts Municipal Association (MMA) Policy Team, and Easton Shovel Town Cultural District Management team.

In her professional capacity, Dottie is Vice President of Community Investment for the South Region at MassDevelopment, where she helps foster economic development across the region. Prior to joining MassDevelopment, Dottie worked with the Old Colony Planning Council as an Economic Recovery Planner and with the Massachusetts Smart Growth Alliance as Director of Local Leadership. Connor Read has been with the Town of Easton since January 2012. Originally working in the Select Board’s Office as Citizen Business Advocate, Connor was appointed Assistant Town Administrator in July 2015. During his tenure as Assistant Town Administrator, he served as Acting Town Clerk from November 2016 through February 2017 and then Acting Town Administrator from January through September 2017 before being appointed as the Town Administrator. In addition to serving the Select Board and Human Resources Board as staff liaison, he is a committee member on Easton’s School Planning Committee and Budget Subcommittee.

Connor holds a Masters of Public Administration from Bridgewater State University and a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts. He is designated a Massachusetts Certified Public Purchasing Officer Associate by the Inspector General, and a Distinguished Alumni Award recipient from the UMass Dartmouth Political Science Department.

In addition to his role in Easton, Connor serves on the Commonwealth’s PFAS Inter-agency Task Force and the Massachusetts Municipal Association Fiscal Policy Committee. He is member to numerous professional associations including the MMA, IMCA, and Massachusetts Municipal Managers Association, on which he currently serves on the Diversity and Inclusion Committee and the Police/Fire Chief & Managers Committee and previously served as Co-Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee and a member of the Future Managers Committee. Beyond his professional associations, Connor is a member of the Bridgewater State University MPA Advisory Board and the Boston chapter of Mensa. Jennifer Menard is the Regional Director for the Southeast Region at the Massachusetts Office of Business Development (MOBD) which covers all of Barnstable County, and a portion of both Plymouth and Bristol Counties. She connects businesses with resources to support growth and economic development. Previously, Jennifer was Vice President of Economic & Business Development at Bristol Community College, where she advanced offshore wind initiatives, workforce training, and diversity programs. With over 15 years of experience in economic development, she has led regional business recruitment efforts and played a key role in developing the Massachusetts offshore wind sector.
