Explore orchestral gems and the diverse music of America, from the rural-hoedown (Ruth Crawford Seeger’s Rissolty, Rossolty) and touching lullaby (William Grant Still’s Mother and Child), to New York swing (Artie Shaw’s Clarinet Concerto). Virtuosic clarinetist Matt Griffith brings Copland’s magnificent Concerto to life. Visit the local village market as the circus comes to town in Walter Piston’s ballet suite, The Incredible Flutist and witness William Schuman’s New England Triptych, based on the music of local composer William Billings, who founded our neighboring Stoughton Musical Society chorus in 1774!
