The Careers in Health Program has come to a close, but here’s some information about what we were able to accomplish through this program:
The Metro South Chamber of Commerce received a Workforce Training Fund consortium grant and a Lumina Foundation grant to train the region’s incumbent health care workers. This important grant enabled us to train the region’s health care workers to meet the current and future workforce needs of the healthcare facilities in the Metro South region. The program targeted entry and advanced level health care employees who sought career and workplace advancement but required higher education, certification, or licensure. These needs were addressed through training that provided essential support to entry level employees seeking higher skill and higher paying positions as well as professional employees who required additional education and training to achieve essential higher level licensure.
This project is funded by a Workforce Training Fund grant through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development.; and through a grant from the Lumina Foundation. The grant program is administered by the Commonwealth Corporation.
