Kingston

Kingston is about 35 miles south of Boston, in coastal Southeast Massachusetts.

Kingston used to be referred to as the North Precinct of Plymouth before the Town was incorporated in 1726. As a founding member of the Plymouth Colony established by the Pilgrims, the Town’s early history sparked an active historical community.

Today, Kingston is primarily a residential area with a small number of cranberry farmers and professional fishers. The majority of the 13,900 people commute, and many use the MBTA Old Colony Train for quick access to Boston and other northern destinations.

Residents enjoy Gray’s Beach, the AhDeNah Landing on the Jones River, fishing and shell fishing, as well as hiking on numerous open space properties. Great schools, an active senior center, recreation center and public library round out our the community.
